Older Work

Ms. Lowinger’s work is primarily based on place. She has been living in San Francisco, Her San Francisco drawings include the UN Plaza (see below) as well as other subjects in the city include Muni underground stations, hotels, and various views of Market Street. Influences include Ruysdael, Jaques Callot, and other artists of the 18th Century, along with Japanese prints and Mugul painting. New work includes etchings that derive inspiration from mystery stories and voyeurism.

Her work has been shown in places including : Nord Norsk Kunstnersentrum, Norway and Fashion Moda, and Southern Exposure. She received a N Y S C A Independent Artist’s Grant and is in the collection of the DIA Foundation.
